none We live in Fla- &are thinking of moving to South Carolina or Georgia in 3 to 4 years – Need to know?

ShoniMommy asked:

We LOVE Florida & have been here for 3 years & we just had a daughter this year – so we want to stay for atleast 3 to 4 more years before she will be of school age –
The only reason we are considering moving is because we want to BUY our OWN home in 3 to 4 years – & property taxes in Florida are so outrageous – We feel like buying a house here would possibly put us in a struggle –
My Fiance’ is about to get his Marine Engineering Liscence in 07- once he does that – he can pretty much get a job wherever- He would prefer to move us somewhere that Marine Jobs are abundant – (Ports)
My folks live in North Alabama & the distance from Florida is too much for them to bare – So we want to live somewhere that will be closer to them – We are thinking of S.Carolina or Georgia – but not sure which one would suit us – We are an open minded interacial couple – Even though its the South we are looking for a city that is Diverse, tons of Job Ops, & Great to raise kids
What city or States R best

TexasBound asked:

I am looking to relocate, I’m not a hefty earner. I’m a teacher , but I’d like to be able to obtain at least a 2-3 bedroom rural home with garage for under $1000 a month. The lower the better. I’ve been looking at different states. Went down to Texas and it was too congested to me. Housing seemed very small for such a big state. Florida and Utah seems out of my league. Georgia and North Carolina seem ok. Perhaps North dakota was the cheapest. I’deally I’d like a warm climate, but at this point I just want a job and place I can afford and call home.

none How much does it cost (ballpark) to build a guest house in North Florida if I already have the land?

SB asked:

There is some land nearby I’m thinking of buying. They say when you build, you can have one home and one mother-in-law/guest cottage connected to the main house by a covered walkway.

But, I cannot afford to build a house right now — and I can’t afford to invest in something I cannot live in. Yet I really want to do this if I can think of a way.

I was thinking maybe I could save money by building the mother-in-law suite, living in that for a few years (2 people – no kids), and THEN building the house when I had the money!

Or, selling the property with just the guest cottage on site (if I move).

If I buy the land (in subdivision/underground utilities, city water, paved roads, etc.), I want to know:

1) Would it really save me money to go this route and have the guest cottage built and not the main house?

2) Could such a cottage be built decently (pref brick/wood floors/ 1 bedroom/ 1.5 bath w. loft & deck) for less than $100K?

I live in North Florida. Thanks :-)

none Price of a realtor?
Posted by wp08 in Renting & Real Estate on 01 8th, 2009
Mich asked:

Hey guys,

We’re finally moving out, and I we’re wanting to buy a house 4 hours north from here. And I think it’d be a really good idea to get a realtor. How much would he/she cost? We’re not selling; only buying. And I’m moving from south to central Florida. Any help?

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA December 1, 2007- More than 100 properties will be put up for sale in the first-ever Super Bowl Real Estate Auction on January 27th 2007. Auction USA, a South Florida based Auction firm, will host the event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. A variety of properties will be sold including condominiums, single-family homes, townhouses, vacant lots, and commercial properties.
“Our primary focus is to serve as the platform between Buyers and Sellers of real estate” says Nicole Hollander, President of Auction USA. “We cooperate with realtors, developers, investors & property owners to move real estate in a declining market.”
With home sales declining more than 30% in the last 12 months, sellers are looking for alternative methods to generate interest in their property. For many, auctions have been their answer. These sellers are highly motivated & often their properties are well-maintained, of high market value & located in some of the most prized location
